Pakoras are a popular snack
and street food from the Indian subcontinent. They are crispy fritters made with vegetables like onions, potatoes, and spices, coated in seasoned gram flour batter and deep-fried. The batter is usually spiced with an array of classic South Asian spices like cumin seeds, coriander powder, and more. Pakoras are often served with a hot cup of chai, and are perfect for a mid-afternoon snack or when guests arrive home unexpectedly. They are light fritters, not dense, and are not shaped. Small portions of dough are gently left into the hot oil which forms asymmetrical shaped fritters. They are addictive and simply delicious!
Along with pakoras this class makes two chutney/sauces perfect for dipping.
