This dark rye style rustic bread was created initially after a customer from Lithuania asked for a bread like she could get in her home country. It took two tries. She says it is perfect! So, this is a denser, darker rye bread that is more European in style. Chef Valerie makes it with her decades old sourdough mother and no commercial yeast. This artisan craft takes patience and is crafted over days but is so worth it! This is a stone baked round dark rye sourdough. It is great for toast, garlic bread, charcuterie, mustard & beer.
